The TIGRE USA INC 1407-130 is a polyethylene insert reducing elbow designed to transition from a 1-inch insert connection to a 1/2-inch female pipe thread (FPT). This fitting is intended for cold water service only and is not approved for use with compressed air, gases, or inside dwellings. It connects to PE polyethylene pipe using stainless steel clamps secured over the barbed insert end. The 1407-130 is listed under ASTM D-2609 and meets NSF 14 and NSF 16 standards for potable water service, making it suitable for water supply lines in approved outdoor or agricultural applications. Plumbers and irrigation professionals handle installation in the field.
This fitting is used in low-pressure cold water distribution systems where a directional change and a size reduction are needed in a single component. Typical applications include rural water service lines, agricultural irrigation systems, and outdoor water supply runs using polyethylene pipe. The insert end slips into the PE pipe and is secured with a stainless steel clamp, while the FPT end threads onto a matching male threaded fitting or valve. It is not intended for residential interior plumbing or any pressurized gas application.
Designed for use with PE polyethylene pipe in cold water service applications. Compatible with stainless steel clamp-style installation per ASTM D-2609 requirements. Modification of the fitting voids the manufacturer warranty.
Installation is typically performed by a licensed plumber or irrigation technician. Shut off the water supply completely before cutting into any existing line. Insert the barbed end fully into the PE pipe and secure with appropriately sized stainless steel clamps torqued per the clamp manufacturer specifications. Do not use this fitting in compressed air lines, gas lines, or any indoor dwelling plumbing application.
