The THOMSON INDUSTRIES C750SS is a 3/4-inch external retaining ring designed to secure components in linear motion assemblies. Manufactured from stainless steel, this ring provides corrosion resistance in demanding environments. It features a ring thickness of 0.05 inches and an inside diameter of 1.183 inches, making it a precise fit for the shaft and bearing configurations it is designed to serve. Installation requires no special tooling beyond standard retaining ring pliers. Licensed maintenance technicians and machine builders typically handle this type of component during linear bearing assembly or replacement service.
This external retaining ring is intended for use in linear bearing assemblies where axial retention of shaft-mounted components is required. It is suited for both light industrial and precision motion control applications. The external mount style seats in a groove on the outside diameter of a shaft, locking adjacent components in place without the need for threaded fasteners or adhesives.
Designed for use with Thomson Industries linear bearings SSU-12, SUPER-12, and part number 122026 as specified by the manufacturer.
Installation and removal should be performed by a qualified technician using the appropriate external retaining ring pliers to avoid distorting the ring or damaging the shaft groove. Power down and de-energize all connected equipment before servicing any linear motion component. Inspect the shaft groove for wear or burrs prior to installation to ensure proper seating and retention. Do not reuse a retaining ring that has been removed, as repeated installation cycles can compromise holding strength.
