The THOMAS BETTS TV18-8LF-XV is a locking fork terminal designed for secure, vibration-resistant electrical connections in commercial and residential wiring applications. This partially insulated crimp terminal features red vinyl insulation and is sized for a No. 8 stud. The locking design prevents the terminal from backing off the stud once installed, making it well suited for panel wiring, control circuits, and equipment terminations where connection integrity is critical. Licensed electricians and experienced technicians install these terminals using standard wire crimping tools during panel assembly, switchgear work, and low-voltage control wiring tasks. Each package contains 75 terminals.
The TV18-8LF-XV is used in residential and light commercial electrical installations where a reliable, removable fork-style termination is needed at a screw or stud connection point. The locking tab on the fork tine holds the terminal against the stud, reducing the risk of accidental disconnection under vibration or mechanical stress. This terminal suits wire sizes in the 18 AWG range consistent with the red color coding used across the industry for small-gauge terminal identification. It is appropriate for control panels, motor starters, and general wiring harness assemblies.
Designed as an OEM-style crimp locking fork terminal for use with No. 8 stud fasteners in standard electrical panel and control wiring applications.
Installation should be performed by a qualified electrician in accordance with applicable NEC requirements. De-energize and lock out the circuit before terminating or removing any wiring. Use a properly calibrated crimp tool rated for the terminal and wire gauge to ensure a gas-tight crimp connection. Do not solder over a crimped terminal, as this can create stress fractures and degrade the connection over time.
