The THOMAS BETTS TV18-8F-XV is a standard fork terminal designed for crimp-style wire termination in electrical wiring applications. This partially insulated terminal features a red vinyl sleeve and accepts an 8 stud size, making it a common choice for 18 AWG connections in control panels, junction boxes, and general electrical assemblies. The copper contact body is plated with TiN (titanium nitride) for reliable conductivity and corrosion resistance. Rated at 600 volts, the TV18-8F-XV meets RoHS compliance and UL 94 V-0 flame-retardant requirements. It is sold in a package quantity of 75 pieces per order.
This terminal is used in residential and commercial electrical work where a secure, vibration-resistant fork connection to a screw or stud is required. Typical applications include control wiring, appliance terminations, HVAC low-voltage panels, and equipment grounding connections. The partially insulated design allows the installer to verify contact seating while still providing insulation over the barrel. The red color coding assists in quick wire gauge identification during wiring and inspection.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or standard crimp fork terminal for use with 8 stud sizes in general electrical, control panel, and HVAC wiring applications where partially insulated vinyl terminals are specified.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician following applicable NEC guidelines. De-energize the circuit completely before terminating any wires. Use a calibrated ratcheting crimp tool sized for the wire gauge and terminal barrel to ensure a gas-tight crimp. Do not over-strip wire insulation, and verify the fork seats fully against the stud before torquing the fastener.
