The THOMAS BETTS TK215SC is a compression-style conduit coupling designed for use with electrical metallic tubing (EMT). It connects two sections of EMT conduit in a secure, concrete-tight fit without the need for set screws. The die cast zinc body provides solid mechanical strength and corrosion resistance for standard electrical installations. At 1-1/2 inch trade size, this coupling is suited for medium-to-large conduit runs in commercial and residential wiring systems. Installation requires only basic hand tools to compress the fitting into position. Licensed electricians and qualified electrical contractors are the primary installers.
This coupling is commonly used in commercial and industrial electrical installations where EMT conduit is routed through or embedded in concrete. The concrete-tight rating makes it appropriate for slab-embedded conduit runs, where moisture and aggregate intrusion must be prevented. It is also used in exposed conduit applications in mechanical rooms, utility spaces, and above-ceiling wiring environments. For concrete-embedded applications, confirm that the fitting is rated for direct burial or encasement before pouring.
