The THOMAS BETTS SSF-SLV is a steel low voltage mounting bracket designed to support low voltage wiring devices and assemblies in residential and light commercial electrical installations. This bracket provides a solid, code-compliant mounting surface for low voltage components such as structured wiring modules, data cables, and communication device plates. Its steel construction ensures durability and long-term mechanical stability in wall cavity applications. Electricians and low voltage technicians install this bracket during rough-in or retrofit work to create a secure anchor point without a traditional electrical box.
This bracket is suited for residential and light commercial applications where low voltage wiring — including telephone, data, coaxial, and AV cabling — requires a flush-mounted device support. It is installed between wall studs in new construction or open-wall retrofit scenarios. The single-piece design simplifies installation and reduces hardware requirements on the job site.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard-fit bracket for low voltage mounting applications in residential and light commercial electrical installations.
Installation is typically performed by a licensed electrician or low voltage technician. De-energize all circuits in the work area before beginning installation in accordance with NFPA 70 (NEC) requirements. Secure the bracket firmly to the wall stud or framing member using appropriate fasteners before attaching the low voltage device plate. Do not use this bracket as a support for standard line voltage wiring or devices.
