The THOMAS BETTS RC10-10FL is a locking fork terminal designed for secure, vibration-resistant electrical terminations. It uses a crimp connection method and accepts a No. 10 stud size, with a fork width of 0.37 inches and an overall length of 1.0 inch. The terminal is partially insulated with a yellow nylon sleeve rated to 600 volts. The copper contact is plated with TiN (titanium nitride) for corrosion resistance and reliable conductivity. This terminal is sold in packages of 50 and is suited for electricians and panel technicians working on branch circuit terminations, control panels, and equipment wiring.
This locking fork terminal is used in residential and commercial electrical applications where a secure, locked fit around a stud or screw terminal is required. The locking tongue prevents the terminal from backing off under vibration, making it a preferred choice in motor control centers, junction boxes, HVAC control panels, and equipment requiring frequent service access. The yellow color coding and partial nylon insulation allow for quick identification during installation and inspection.
Designed as a standard crimp-style locking fork terminal for use with No. 10 stud or screw terminations in 600-volt-rated electrical assemblies and control wiring applications.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with NEC requirements for termination hardware. De-energize the circuit and verify absence of voltage before crimping or securing the terminal. Use a calibrated ratcheting crimp tool appropriate for the wire gauge and terminal series to ensure a proper mechanical and electrical connection. Do not over-crimp or substitute with non-rated tooling, as this can compromise the insulation or contact integrity.
