The THOMAS BETTS RA18-10 is a D-shaped, partially insulated ring terminal designed for crimp connections on copper conductors ranging from 22 to 16 AWG. The contact is made from copper with a tin (TiN) plating for corrosion resistance, and the insulation sleeve is nylon, rated UL 94 V-2 for flame resistance. At 0.89 inches long and 0.31 inches wide, this terminal fits a number 10 stud. Electricians and panel technicians install these terminals when terminating control wiring, low-voltage circuits, or light-duty branch circuit conductors to screw-terminal studs on equipment, panels, or terminal blocks.
This ring terminal is suited for residential and commercial electrical work where a secure, vibration-resistant mechanical connection is required at a number 10 stud. Typical applications include control panel wiring, HVAC low-voltage terminations, and general electrical panel work. The partially insulated barrel guides conductor insertion and provides strain relief at the crimp point without adding bulk at the ring end. Packaged in quantities of 100, these terminals are appropriate for service vans and shop inventory.
Designed as an OEM-style crimp ring terminal for use with 22 to 16 AWG copper conductors terminating at number 10 stud fasteners on electrical panels, terminal blocks, and equipment with screw-type binding posts.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with NEC requirements for terminal and conductor sizing. De-energize and lockout the circuit before terminating any conductors. Use a calibrated ratchet crimp tool sized for the 22 to 16 AWG range to achieve a proper mechanical and electrical crimp — do not use pliers or uncalibrated tools. Inspect the crimped barrel for deformation or conductor pullout before restoring power.
