The THOMAS BETTS NJ14126 is a standard polycarbonate electrical enclosure rated for NEMA 1, 2, 3, 3S, 3SX, 3X, 4, and 4X environments. It measures 12 inches wide, 14 inches high, and 6 inches deep, and weighs 8 pounds. The polycarbonate construction provides impact resistance along with broad environmental protection, making it suitable for housing electrical controls, terminals, and components in demanding indoor and outdoor locations. A hinged flat cover with captive screws and swing panels allows quick access without loose hardware. Electricians and controls technicians are the primary installers for this type of enclosure.
This enclosure is appropriate for both residential and light commercial electrical installations where protection from dust, water, and physical impact is required. The multi-NEMA rating spans dry indoor use through washdown and outdoor wet-location applications, giving it wide utility across industrial control panels, HVAC equipment enclosures, utility metering installations, and general electrical distribution points. Its polycarbonate body is well suited for corrosive or chemically active environments where metal enclosures would be problematic.
Designed as an OEM-style standard electrical enclosure suitable for use wherever NEMA 1 through 4X polycarbonate enclosures are specified in electrical, HVAC controls, or industrial panel applications.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with applicable NEC requirements. Disconnect and lock out all power to connected circuits before opening or mounting the enclosure. Verify that the selected knockouts and conduit entries maintain the appropriate NEMA rating for the installation environment. Do not overtighten captive cover screws, as polycarbonate mounting bosses can crack if excessive torque is applied.
