The THOMAS BETTS L70P is a non-insulated, D-shaped ring terminal designed for secure lug-style wire terminations in electrical panel, control, and power distribution work. The terminal accepts wire sizes from 14 to 4 AWG and fits a 3/8-inch stud. Constructed from copper with a titanium nitride (TiN) contact plating, it provides solid conductivity and corrosion resistance in demanding environments. At 1-1/8 inches in overall length and 17/32 inches in ring width, the L70P is a compact, field-proven lug that licensed electricians and industrial wiremen reach for when making ring-type terminations on larger-gauge conductors.
This terminal is suited for use in residential, commercial, and light industrial electrical installations where a non-insulated ring lug is required at a bus bar, ground stud, motor terminal, or panelboard connection. The D-shaped ring profile allows the terminal to be oriented and retained on the stud without spinning during fastening, which is useful in tight panel interiors or when working on vibration-prone equipment. Typical installations include grounding applications, motor leads, and equipment bonding connections where 14 to 4 AWG copper or copper-clad conductors are used.
Designed as an OEM-style ring terminal lug for use with 14 to 4 AWG conductors on 3/8-inch threaded studs in standard electrical termination applications.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the NEC and any applicable local codes. De-energize and lock out the circuit before making or breaking any terminations. Use a calibrated compression crimping tool rated for the conductor size and terminal type to ensure a gas-tight connection. Do not solder the crimp joint or reuse a terminal once it has been crimped.
