The THOMAS BETTS JAB34 is a single-nut rod clamp designed to bond or ground conductors to threaded rod in electrical grounding applications. Built from copper alloy, this clamp accepts wire sizes ranging from 1/0 AWG down to 8 AWG solid, and fits a 3/4-inch diameter rod. The overall length is 2 inches. UL Listed, CSA Certified, and RoHS Compliant, the JAB34 meets standard requirements for grounding and bonding assemblies. Licensed electricians and electrical contractors install this hardware in panel grounding systems, equipment grounding runs, and structural bonding applications.
The JAB34 is suited for residential and commercial electrical installations where a reliable mechanical connection to a 3/4-inch threaded or smooth rod is required. Typical applications include grounding electrode conductor terminations and equipment bonding connections in new construction or retrofit work. The single-nut design allows for fast, one-tool installation in tight spaces. Compatible wire sizes span 8.30 to 53.40 square millimeters for international wiring system compatibility.
Designed for use with 3/4-inch diameter grounding rods and accepts conductors from 1/0 AWG to 8 AWG solid in standard grounding and bonding assemblies.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with applicable NEC requirements for grounding and bonding. De-energize the circuit and verify zero voltage before making or breaking any grounding connections. Use an appropriately sized wrench to tighten the single nut to a secure mechanical connection. Inspect the conductor insulation and rod surface for damage or corrosion before installing the clamp.
