The THOMAS BETTS GUAC26-TB is a round iron electrical box designed for use in hazardous location wiring applications. Zinc-plated for corrosion resistance, this box measures 3.5 inches overall width and 2 inches overall depth. It ships with internal ground screws and includes two 0.75-inch knockouts for conduit entry. Rated for Class I, II, and III hazardous environments, it meets UL 514A and UL 886 standards along with CSA certification. Licensed electricians working in industrial, petrochemical, grain handling, and similar hazardous-duty settings will find this box suited to code-compliant installations where explosion-proof or dust-ignition-proof enclosures are required.
This box is appropriate for both residential and commercial electrical installations where NEMA 3, NEMA 4, NEMA 7CD, and NEMA 9EFG ratings are specified. It is commonly installed in locations where exposure to flammable gases, combustible dust, or ignitable fibers creates a classified hazardous area. Installation must be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable local codes governing hazardous locations. De-energize all circuits and verify absence of voltage before opening or working inside the enclosure. Conduit fittings used with this box must carry matching hazardous-location ratings to maintain the integrity of the classified area seal. Do not substitute non-rated fittings or covers, as doing so may void the hazardous-location listing.
