The THOMAS BETTS GUAC14-TB is a round, iron GUAC electrical box designed for use in hazardous and demanding industrial environments. It measures 2.5 inches in overall width and 2.25 inches in overall depth, with a zinc-plated finish that resists corrosion. The box includes two 0.5-inch knockouts and internal ground screws. It carries UL 514A, UL 886, and UL Listed ratings alongside CSA certification, making it suitable for installations where classified area requirements must be met. Licensed electricians and industrial maintenance technicians typically specify this box for conduit outlet applications in Class I and Class II hazardous locations.
This GUAC box is rated for Class I Divisions 1 and 2 Groups C and D, Class II Division 1 Groups E, F, and G, and Class III Divisions 1 and 2. It meets NEMA 3, NEMA 4, NEMA 7 CD, and NEMA 9EFG enclosure ratings. These ratings make it applicable in environments where flammable gases, combustible dusts, or ignitable fibers may be present, such as petrochemical facilities, grain handling operations, and similar industrial sites. The compact round form factor suits conduit outlet and junction applications where space is limited.
Designed as an OEM-style GUAC outlet box for use in Class I and Class II hazardous location conduit systems where round iron boxes meeting UL 886 and CSA C22.2 No. 30 are required.
Installation must be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) Article 500 and applicable local codes governing hazardous locations. De-energize all circuits and verify the area is clear of flammable vapors or dusts before opening any conduit system. All conduit entries must be sealed per NEC requirements for the applicable hazardous location division and group. Confirm knockout size matches the conduit trade size before installation to maintain the enclosure rating.
