The THOMAS BETTS FOL500-50-0 is a hook and loop cable tie strap designed for bundling, routing, and securing wire harnesses and cable runs in electrical, HVAC, and low-voltage installations. Measuring 18 inches in length and 0.75 inches wide, this strap uses a reusable hook-and-loop fastening system rather than a ratchet head, allowing technicians to reposition or remove bundles without cutting. The nylon construction is flame-retardant, rated UL 94 V-2. Maximum bundle diameter is 5 inches, and the strap holds up to 50 lb tensile strength. Sold in packages of 10.
This cable tie is suited for residential and commercial electrical, HVAC control wiring, low-voltage data runs, and panel wiring applications where reusability and clean wire management are priorities. The hook-and-loop design is commonly used in retrofit installs, equipment rooms, and any situation where bundles are adjusted during commissioning. The 18-inch length accommodates large-diameter bundles and multi-conductor harnesses that standard fixed-head ties cannot handle efficiently.
Designed as a general-purpose hook-and-loop cable tie strap for use in electrical, HVAC, low-voltage, and mechanical wiring applications requiring reusable bundle management.
Installation does not require tools. Power down circuits or de-energize panels before routing or securing wiring in live enclosures, per NEC guidelines. Wrap the strap around the bundle and fasten the hook side to the loop side, adjusting tension as needed. Avoid overtightening on delicate insulation types such as plenum-rated or thin-wall wire jackets.
