The THOMAS BETTS CC-NPT-38-G is a nylon cable gland designed for use with liquid-tight conduit systems. This straight, non-insulated connector provides a threaded connection point where liquid-tight conduit terminates at a junction box, enclosure, or panel. The 3/8 inch trade size fits standard liquid-tight flexible conduit of the same trade designation. Electricians rely on this type of fitting to maintain the liquid-tight integrity of the conduit run while securing the conduit to the enclosure wall. The nylon construction resists corrosion and reduces weight compared to metal alternatives.
This fitting is suited for residential, commercial, and light industrial electrical installations where liquid-tight flexible conduit is routed to enclosures, control panels, motors, or equipment. The 3/8 inch trade size is commonly used in low-voltage control wiring, HVAC equipment connections, and similar applications where a compact, corrosion-resistant liquid-tight termination is required. It is sold and installed as a single-piece straight connector.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for liquid-tight flexible conduit systems using 3/8 inch trade size conduit.
Licensed electricians typically install liquid-tight cable glands in accordance with NEC requirements for conduit terminations. De-energize all circuits before opening any enclosure or panel to install or replace conduit fittings. Hand-tighten the threaded connector into the enclosure knockout, then snug with appropriate tools without overtightening nylon fittings, as excessive force can crack the body. Verify the liquid-tight conduit jacket seats fully into the gland body to maintain the liquid-tight seal of the conduit run.
