The THOMAS BETTS BG100-14-4 is a partially insulated conduit bushing designed for use with rigid metal conduit and intermediate metal conduit (IMC). Constructed from malleable iron, it provides a durable transition fitting at conduit terminations, protecting wire insulation from abrasion at sharp conduit edges. The lug screw connection secures the bushing in place during installation. At a 1 inch trade size, this bushing fits standard 1 inch rigid and IMC conduit ends. It is installed by licensed electricians in commercial and industrial conduit systems wherever a code-compliant bushing is required at a panel, enclosure, or junction box entry point.
This bushing is suited for 1 inch trade size rigid metal conduit and IMC installations in commercial and industrial electrical systems. It is commonly used at panel knockouts, pull boxes, and enclosure entries where the conduit terminates and conductors pass through. The partial insulation at the throat protects conductor insulation from the metal edge of the conduit. The straight connector shape allows direct, inline mounting at the termination point without offset or angular adjustment.
Designed as an OEM-style fitting for 1 inch trade size rigid metal conduit and intermediate metal conduit (IMC) terminations in commercial and industrial electrical installations.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC). De-energize all circuits in the affected enclosure or panel before beginning conduit termination work. Thread the bushing onto the conduit end and tighten the lug screw securely before pulling conductors through to prevent bushing movement during wire pulling. Inspect the insulated throat for damage before installation to ensure conductor protection is intact.
