The THOMAS BETTS B14-12 is a non-insulated, D-shaped ring terminal designed for crimp connections on copper conductors sized 18 to 14 AWG. The terminal body measures 1.06 inches in overall length and 0.72 inches in ring width, with a 1/2-inch stud size for secure fastening to bus bars, ground lugs, or terminal blocks. The copper contact is plated with TiN (titanium nitride) for improved conductivity and corrosion resistance. Electricians and panel technicians install this terminal in control panels, switchgear, and low-voltage wiring applications where a clean, mechanically sound ring connection is required. Each package contains 100 terminals.
This terminal is suited for residential, commercial, and light industrial electrical work where 18 to 14 AWG conductors are terminated to stud-mounted connection points. Typical applications include control wiring in HVAC equipment, motor starter panels, junction boxes, and electrical distribution panels. The non-insulated design is appropriate where separate insulation sleeving is used or where bare terminations are acceptable per the applicable code and installation standard. Installers working to NEC requirements will find this terminal compatible with standard ratchet crimp tooling.
Designed as a standard crimp ring terminal for 18 to 14 AWG copper conductors terminated to 1/2-inch studs in control, power distribution, and low-voltage wiring applications.
Installation should be performed by a qualified electrician in accordance with NEC Article 110 termination requirements. De-energize and lock out the circuit before terminating any conductors. Use a calibrated ratchet crimping tool matched to the AWG range of the conductor being terminated — do not use pliers or uncalibrated tools, as an improper crimp can result in high-resistance joints or pull-out failure. Inspect the completed crimp for full conductor insertion and mechanical integrity before re-energizing.
