The THOMAS BETTS ADR60-21 is a non-insulated rectangle ring terminal designed for compression connections on 2 AWG aluminum conductors. It accepts a 1/2 inch stud and features a titanium nitride (TiN) contact plating over an aluminum contact surface, which helps resist corrosion and maintains conductivity at the termination point. The terminal measures 3-3/16 inches in overall length and 2-13/32 inches in ring width, with a 7/16 inch contact thickness. Electricians and maintenance technicians use this terminal where a secure, mechanical compression lug is required on larger-gauge aluminum feeders.
This terminal is suited for use in electrical distribution, feeder connections, and panel terminations where 2 AWG aluminum wire is routed to bus bars or equipment lugs with 1/2 inch stud hardware. Its non-insulated construction makes it appropriate for applications where the termination point is housed inside an enclosure or where sleeve insulation is applied separately after crimping. It is commonly installed in commercial and industrial electrical systems as well as residential service equipment.
Designed as an OEM-style compression lug for use with 2 AWG aluminum conductors terminating on 1/2 inch stud hardware in electrical panels, switchgear, and distribution equipment.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC). De-energize and lock out the circuit before crimping or torquing any terminal. Use a calibrated compression tool rated for the terminal size and wire gauge to achieve a proper mechanical connection. Inspect the crimped barrel for deformation or cracking before completing the installation.
