The THOMAS BETTS A-100-3/8 is a regular spring nut designed for use with strut channel systems in electrical and mechanical installations. Manufactured from steel with an electro galvanized finish, this spring nut accepts a 3/8 inch bolt with a 3/8-16 inch thread size. It seats securely inside Type A channel and provides a fast, tool-free positioning method before bolt tightening. Electricians and mechanical contractors use spring nuts when building pipe supports, cable tray hangers, equipment mounting rails, and similar strut-based assemblies. The electro galvanized coating provides corrosion resistance suitable for indoor and protected outdoor environments.
This spring nut is intended for use with Thomas Betts Channel Type A only. It is a standard component in commercial and light industrial electrical installations where strut channel systems are used to support conduit, cable trays, and mechanical equipment. The 3/8-16 thread size makes it compatible with standard 3/8 inch hardware commonly used in these assemblies. It is sold individually and is well suited for repair, retrofit, or new construction work requiring single-unit replacement or low-quantity installation.

Installation is typically performed by licensed electricians or mechanical contractors following NEC guidelines for equipment support and grounding continuity. Before servicing an existing strut assembly, de-energize all conductors and equipment supported by the channel. Insert the spring nut into the channel slot, position it under the desired bolt hole location, then thread and tighten the 3/8 inch bolt to secure the fitting. Do not over-torque, as this can deform the spring clip and compromise holding force.
