The THOMAS BETTS 54158 is a non-insulated square ring terminal designed for permanent compression connections on 2/0 AWG copper conductors. The terminal features a copper contact body with a titanium nitride (TiN) plating, which provides reliable electrical conductivity and resistance to corrosion at the contact interface. Sized at 1.88 inches overall length and 0.83 inches wide with a 5/16 inch stud hole, it is built for high-current applications where a secure, low-resistance termination is required. Electricians and electrical contractors use this terminal in panel wiring, equipment grounding, and heavy-duty power distribution assemblies.
This terminal is suited for residential, commercial, and industrial electrical installations where 2/0 AWG wire must be terminated to a square-style ring lug. It is installed using a compression crimping tool appropriate for 2/0 AWG die sets. The 5/16 inch stud size fits standard bus bar studs, ground lugs, and equipment terminals commonly found in load centers, switchgear, and motor termination points. The non-insulated black finish allows for visual inspection of the crimp zone after installation.
Designed as an OEM-style compression ring terminal for 2/0 AWG wire gauge applications in electrical distribution, grounding, and heavy-duty power termination installations.
Installation must be performed by a qualified electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable local codes. De-energize and lock out the circuit before terminating any conductors. Use a calibrated compression crimping tool with the correct 2/0 AWG die set to achieve a proper gas-tight crimp. Do not attempt to re-crimp or reuse a terminal that has already been compressed onto a conductor.
