The THOMAS BETTS 54132 is a non-insulated square ring terminal designed for compression connections on 8 AWG copper conductors. It provides a secure, low-resistance termination point where a wire must be fastened to a stud or lug. The square ring geometry seats flush against mounting hardware and resists rotation during torquing, making it a reliable choice in panel terminations, grounding applications, and equipment bonding. The copper contact with titanium nitride (TiN) plating improves corrosion resistance and contact durability. Licensed electricians and electrical contractors are the primary installers of this terminal type in commercial and industrial wiring assemblies.
This terminal is suited for residential, commercial, and light industrial electrical installations where 8 AWG conductors must be terminated at a 3/8 inch stud. It is commonly used in panel boards, motor control centers, grounding electrode conductor connections, and equipment bonding points. The compression connection style requires a proper ratcheting or hex crimp tool to achieve a gas-tight, code-compliant termination. The non-insulated design allows inspection of the crimp after installation and is appropriate where insulation sleeves or heat-shrink tubing will be applied separately or where the terminal is otherwise protected by an enclosure.

Do not attempt to solder a compression-style terminal or use pliers as a substitute for a proper crimping tool.
