The THOMAS BETTS 5359 is an angled, insulated conduit connector designed for liquid-tight conduit systems. Built from malleable iron with a threaded connection type, this fitting provides a secure, code-appropriate termination point where liquid-tight flexible metal conduit meets an enclosure or junction box. At a 3-inch trade size, it is suited for large-conductor runs common in industrial and heavy commercial installations. Licensed electricians and electrical contractors install this fitting where moisture resistance, oil resistance, and mechanical protection are required at conduit entry points.
This connector is rated for use in hazardous locations, non-hazardous locations, oiltight applications, and watertight applications. The angled body design allows conduit to enter enclosures at a offset angle, reducing strain on the conduit and making routing easier in tight spaces. It is commonly specified on motor connections, control panels, pump stations, and equipment in wet or corrosive environments where a straight connector would create a sharp bend in the conduit run.

Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and any applicable local codes, including requirements for hazardous location classifications where relevant. De-energize all circuits and lock out the associated equipment before beginning conduit termination work. Use appropriate conduit wrenches and thread sealant as required by the installation environment. Do not overtighten the connector body against the enclosure wall, as malleable iron fittings can crack under excessive torque.
