The THOMAS BETTS 5248 is a non-insulated, angled liquid-tight conduit connector made from malleable iron with a threaded connection type. It is rated for a 2-1/2 inch trade size and is designed to terminate liquid-tight flexible metal conduit at enclosures, junction boxes, or equipment panels. The angled body allows conduit to enter at an offset, which is useful in tight spaces or where a straight connector would create excessive conduit bend. Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with applicable NEC articles governing liquid-tight flexible metal conduit and fittings. De-energize the circuit and lock out the equipment before beginning conduit termination work. Ensure the conduit is cut cleanly and seated fully into the connector before tightening the locknut at the enclosure knockout. Do not overtighten the fitting body, as malleable iron threads can be damaged by excessive torque applied without a thread sealant or where the knockout edge is irregular.
