The THOMAS BETTS 3122 is a straight, insulated conduit connector designed for use with Flexible Metal Conduit (FMC). Constructed from malleable iron, this set screw connector provides a secure, code-compliant termination where FMC meets an enclosure, junction box, or panel knockout. The insulated throat protects wire insulation at the point of entry, reducing abrasion risk during pull-through. Rated for non-hazardous area applications, the 3122 carries a 3-inch trade size and is suited for commercial and industrial installations where a reliable FMC termination is required. Electricians and electrical contractors are the primary installers of this fitting type.
This connector is used in non-hazardous commercial, industrial, and residential electrical installations where 3-inch FMC must be terminated at enclosures, panels, or conduit bodies. The straight body profile is appropriate for standard inline terminations. The set screw connection method provides positive mechanical engagement with the FMC jacket, and the insulated throat protects conductors at the connector entry point. This fitting is typically found in mechanical rooms, electrical rooms, and equipment connection applications where flexible conduit routing is required.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard-fit connector for 3-inch Flexible Metal Conduit (FMC) in non-hazardous area electrical installations.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with applicable NEC requirements for FMC terminations. De-energize and lock out the circuit or panel before connecting or disconnecting conduit fittings. Ensure the FMC is fully seated into the connector before tightening the set screw to achieve proper mechanical and electrical continuity. Do not use this fitting with Liquidtight Flexible Metal Conduit (LFMC) or other conduit types it is not rated for.
