The THOMAS BETTS 18RAD-182 is a fully insulated female wire disconnect terminal designed for quick-connect and quick-disconnect wiring applications. The vinyl insulation sleeve covers the full crimp barrel, protecting against accidental contact and reducing the risk of shorts in tight wire runs. Rated for 22-18 AWG wire, this terminal accepts a 0.187-inch tab width, which is the standard 3/16-inch push-on tab common in low-voltage control wiring, appliance wiring, and automotive-style connectors. The red insulation color is the industry-standard color code for 22-18 AWG terminals, making polarity and gauge identification fast on the bench or in the field.
This disconnect is suited for residential and light commercial electrical, HVAC control circuit wiring, appliance repair, and panel assembly work. Electricians and HVAC technicians use terminals like the 18RAD-182 when terminating low-voltage control wires to spade-tab connectors on contactors, relays, thermostats, and terminal blocks. The 0.187-inch female receptacle slides onto matching male spade tabs and releases without tools, making field servicing straightforward. This terminal is sold in a package of 100 units, appropriate for bench stock or service van inventory.
Designed for use with 22-18 AWG conductors and standard 0.187-inch male spade tab connectors found on relays, contactors, terminal blocks, and control boards in electrical and HVAC applications.
Installation requires a ratcheting or calibrated crimp tool rated for insulated vinyl terminals in the 22-18 AWG range. De-energize all circuits before terminating or removing disconnect terminals. Do not use pliers or uncalibrated tools in place of a proper crimper, as an undersized crimp barrel can cause high-resistance connections or pull-out failures. Follow applicable NEC requirements for conductor sizing and termination in the system being serviced.
