The THOMAS BETTS 17076-BD is a butt splice terminal designed for use with 3/0 AWG conductors. Butt splice terminals create a secure, in-line electrical connection between two wire ends by crimping both conductors into opposite ends of a single barrel. This terminal is installed by licensed electricians and experienced electrical technicians working on power distribution, industrial wiring, and heavy-gauge electrical assemblies where reliable conductor-to-conductor continuity is required.
This terminal is suited for applications involving large-gauge conductors in residential, commercial, and industrial electrical systems. It is typically used where 3/0 AWG wire must be extended or spliced in-line, including service entrance wiring, panel feeders, and heavy equipment connections. Each unit is sold individually, with a minimum order quantity of 5 units.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement butt splice terminal for use with 3/0 AWG conductors in standard electrical splicing applications.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician following applicable NEC requirements. De-energize all circuits completely and verify with a meter before beginning any splicing work. Use a ratchet-style crimping tool rated for the terminal barrel size and conductor gauge to ensure a proper mechanical and electrical connection. Do not solder over a crimped butt splice terminal unless the terminal is specifically rated for combined crimp-and-solder use.
