The THOMAS BETTS 1456 is a thermoplastic knockout plug designed to seal unused knockout openings in electrical enclosures. It provides a clean, code-compliant closure for 2-inch conduit knockouts in panels, junction boxes, and enclosures. Made from durable thermoplastic, it resists moisture and physical damage while maintaining the integrity of the enclosure. Licensed electricians and electrical contractors install this plug wherever a conduit entry point is no longer needed or was never used, keeping enclosures properly sealed per applicable electrical codes.
This plug is intended for use with 2-inch rigid metal conduit and IMC conduit knockout openings in electrical enclosures. It is suited for both new construction and retrofit applications in residential, commercial, and light industrial environments. When sealing unused knockouts in panels or pull boxes, this fitting ensures enclosure protection ratings are maintained. Its thermoplastic construction makes it lightweight and easy to seat into standard knockout holes.
Designed for use with 2-inch rigid conduit and IMC conduit knockout openings in standard electrical enclosures.
Installation is performed by a licensed electrician. De-energize and lock out the panel or enclosure before inserting or removing knockout plugs, following NFPA 70 lockout requirements. The plug seats into the knockout opening by hand or with light pressure using an appropriate tool. Do not force the plug into an oversized or damaged knockout, as a proper fit is required to maintain enclosure integrity.
