The THOMAS BETTS 10RC-8FL is a locking fork terminal designed for secure, permanent wire terminations in electrical panels, control enclosures, and industrial wiring applications. The terminal features a partially insulated vinyl sleeve in yellow, a crimp-style connection, and a copper contact with TiN (titanium nitride) plating for reliable conductivity and corrosion resistance. Rated at 600 volts, it accepts a No. 8 stud and measures 1.09 inches in overall length with a fork width of 0.37 inches. This terminal is installed by licensed electricians and panel wiring technicians.
The 10RC-8FL is suited for residential, commercial, and light industrial wiring where a locked fork connection to a stud or screw terminal is required. The locking feature prevents the terminal from backing off the stud during vibration or thermal cycling, making it a preferred choice in motor control panels, HVAC equipment wiring, and electrical distribution boards. It is sold in packages of 50, which suits service vans and panel shop applications alike.
Designed for use with No. 8 stud or screw terminals in crimp-termination applications. Fits standard fork terminal positions in electrical panels and control wiring assemblies where a partially insulated, locking-style fork terminal is specified.
Installation should be performed by a qualified electrician in accordance with NEC guidelines. De-energize and lock out the circuit before terminating or removing any wiring. Use a calibrated ratcheting crimp tool rated for the terminal series to ensure a proper gas-tight crimp. Do not solder over the crimp, as this can introduce brittleness at the barrel joint.
