The thhn4/0strredmr is a 4/0 AWG stranded copper THHN wire with red PVC thermoplastic insulation and a nylon jacket, sold cut to length. It carries a 600-volt rating and is ampacity-rated at 195 amps at 60 degrees C, 230 amps at 75 degrees C, and 260 amps at 90 degrees C, with a dry-service temperature rating of 90 degrees C. The 19-strand construction improves flexibility for pulling through conduit. Licensed electricians use this wire for branch circuits, feeder runs, and service entrance applications in commercial and industrial conduit systems.
THHN 4/0 stranded copper wire is used in residential, commercial, and industrial electrical installations where conductors must be pulled through EMT, rigid metal, or PVC conduit. The large conductor size suits high-ampacity feeder and service runs, including panel feeds, sub-panel feeder circuits, and heavy motor branch circuits. The red insulation color aids phase identification in multi-conductor conduit fills. Cut-to-length purchasing reduces waste on jobs where standard spool quantities exceed the run needed.
Designed for use in conduit systems where THHN-rated conductors are required per NEC Article 310 provisions for insulated conductors. Suitable for dry locations at rated temperature and voltage.
Installation must be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable local codes. De-energize and lock out the circuit before terminating conductors at any panel, junction box, or equipment connection. Use appropriately rated lugs and terminals for 4/0 AWG copper conductors, and verify torque specifications per the terminal manufacturer. THHN wire is rated for dry locations only at its full 90 degrees C rating; verify location conditions before installing.
