The THHNCU-GENERIC thhn14solred500r is a 14 AWG solid plain copper conductor rated for use in general-purpose electrical wiring applications. Insulated with PVC and jacketed in nylon, this THHN wire carries a 600-volt rating and a 90 degrees C dry / 75 degrees C wet temperature rating. The solid stranding makes it well suited for conduit runs in panels, branch circuits, and control wiring where a rigid conductor is preferred. Electricians and electrical contractors install this wire in residential, commercial, and light industrial settings. Each spool contains 500 feet of red-insulated wire, making it easy to identify in multi-conductor installations.
This wire is used in conduit-fed branch circuits, panel wiring, and control circuit applications where 14 AWG solid copper is the specified conductor. The red insulation color allows straightforward phase or circuit identification during installation and future service work. At 15 amps continuous capacity, it is appropriate for standard 15-amp branch circuits in residential and commercial construction. It is commonly pulled through EMT, rigid metal conduit, flexible metal conduit, and ENT tubing in both new construction and retrofit work.
Designed as a standard THHN type 14 AWG solid copper conductor suitable for use in conduit wiring systems per NEC requirements for residential, commercial, and light industrial branch circuit applications.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable local codes. De-energize the circuit and lock out the panel before making any connections. Solid 14 AWG conductors are intended for conduit installation and are not recommended for applications requiring repeated flexing. Use appropriate wire-pulling lubricant when pulling through long conduit runs to avoid insulation damage.
