The THHNCU-GENERIC thhn12strred2500r is a 12 AWG stranded copper THHN building wire supplied on a 2500-foot reel with red insulation. Rated at 600 volts and 20 amps, it carries a 90 degrees C dry and 75 degrees C wet temperature rating, making it suitable for general-purpose branch circuit and feeder wiring. The conductor is built with 19 strands for improved flexibility compared to solid wire, and the PVC insulation is jacketed in nylon for added abrasion and moisture resistance. Licensed electricians use this wire in residential, commercial, and light industrial conduit installations.
This wire is well suited for branch circuit wiring in conduit runs, panel feeders, and general electrical distribution in buildings. The 2500-foot reel format reduces reel changes on large jobs and is commonly pulled for multi-circuit rough-ins in new construction and renovation work. The red insulation color aids phase identification and circuit tracing in multi-wire systems. Typical applications include conduit fill in EMT, rigid metal conduit, and PVC conduit systems where NEC-compliant THHN wire is specified.
Designed for use in dry and wet conduit systems where Type THHN or THHN/THWN-2 building wire is specified per NEC requirements for branch circuit and feeder conductors.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable local codes. De-energize all circuits and verify zero voltage with a meter before making terminations. Wire should be pulled through listed conduit systems only; do not use as open wiring or in direct burial applications unless the conduit system is rated for that use. Observe conduit fill calculations per NEC Chapter 9 when combining with other conductors.
