The THHNCU-GENERIC thhn1strblkmr is a 1 AWG stranded copper THHN building wire rated for use in commercial and residential electrical installations. The conductor is built from 19-strand copper and insulated with PVC, then jacketed in nylon to meet THHN specifications. It carries a 600-volt rating and a 90 degrees F temperature rating for both dry and wet environments. Ampacity is 110 amps at 60 degrees C, 130 amps at 75 degrees C, and 145 amps at 90 degrees C. This wire is sold cut to length, making it practical for larger pull quantities without taking on a full reel.
This wire is used in conduit runs for branch circuits, feeder circuits, and service entry work in residential and commercial construction. Electricians pull it through EMT, rigid metal conduit, PVC conduit, and wireways where code-compliant building wire is required. The black insulation color identifies it as a hot conductor in standard NEC color-coding practice. The 19-strand configuration gives the wire flexibility that makes pulling through conduit bends easier compared to solid conductors of the same gauge.
Designed for use in conduit systems where NEC-compliant THHN 1 AWG building wire is specified for branch circuit, feeder, or service wiring applications.
Installation must be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with NFPA 70 (NEC) and all applicable local codes. De-energize and lock out the circuit before terminating or splicing conductors. This wire is rated for use in conduit only and must not be used as open wiring or in direct-burial applications without an additional rated outer jacket. Verify conduit fill calculations per NEC Article 310 before pulling multiple conductors through a single raceway.
