The TESA BROWN SHARPE 599-7034-3 is a horizontal-style dial test indicator from the BesTest series, designed for precision dimensional measurement in machining, inspection, and metrology applications. It delivers 0.0005 inch graduation with a maximum measurement range of 0.02 inches per revolution, reading on a 0-10-0 bidirectional scale. The 1-inch white dial provides clear readability. An integrated shockproof system protects the mechanism during shop-floor use. Licensed metrology professionals, machinists, and quality control technicians typically deploy this indicator with surface plates, magnetic bases, or transfer stands for runout, flatness, and part-alignment checks.
This indicator suits precision dimensional inspection tasks in both production and toolroom environments. The lever-type, low measuring force design minimizes deflection of delicate workpieces during contact. The horizontal orientation is standard for bore gauging, shaft runout, and fixturing verification. Conformance to DIN 2270 and EN ISO 9493 makes it suitable for use in quality systems requiring traceable measurement tooling. The kit includes three 0.08 inch insert ball tips, a mounting rod, wrench, plastic case, measurement report, and Declaration of Conformity certificate.
Designed as a standard horizontal dial test indicator compatible with conventional dovetail-mount indicator holders, magnetic base arms, and universal transfer stands used in general metrology and machine shop inspection setups.
Mounting and setup should be performed by a qualified machinist or metrology technician familiar with indicator-holder systems and measurement best practices. Secure the mounting rod in a compatible holder and verify the contact point is oriented correctly relative to the measurement axis before zeroing the dial. Do not apply side-loading force to the contact spindle beyond the rated measuring direction, as this can affect accuracy or damage the mechanism. The rotating dial bezel allows in-place zeroing without repositioning the indicator body.
