The TESA BROWN SHARPE 599-7033-3 is a horizontal-style dial test indicator from the BesTest series, designed for precision dimensional measurement in toolroom, machining, and quality-control environments. It delivers a maximum measurement range of 0.008 inches per revolution with a fine graduation of 0.00005 inches and an accuracy rating of 0.0001 inches. The lever-type mechanism uses low measuring force to reduce deflection error on sensitive surfaces. An integrated shockproof system protects the movement during normal shop handling. Machinists, quality technicians, and tool-and-die tradespeople rely on this indicator for surface runout checks, part alignment, and setup verification on mills, lathes, and surface plates.
This indicator suits precision measurement tasks in both production and inspection settings. The horizontal orientation makes it well suited for side-approach contact on part surfaces, bores, and shoulders where a standard plunger indicator cannot reach at the required angle. The 0-5-0 bidirectional dial face with a white background allows easy reading of positive and negative deviation from zero. A rotating bezel lets the user zero the dial at any position. The 1.5-inch diameter dial provides clear graduation visibility under typical shop lighting. The unit ships with a 2 mm insert, mounting rod, wrench, plastic case, and a Declaration of Conformity certificate along with a measurement report.
Designed as an OEM-style precision indicator compatible with standard dovetail mounting rods and magnetic-base indicator holders common to toolroom and inspection setups.
Installation and setup should be performed by a machinist, metrologist, or quality technician familiar with precision measurement equipment. Secure the indicator using the included mounting rod in a compatible holder or magnetic base, ensuring the contact point approaches the measured surface at the correct angle for the horizontal lever style. Zero the dial after seating the contact point with light pre-load before taking measurements. Avoid side-loading the lever beyond its rated range, as this can affect accuracy and damage the movement.
