The TEMPIL 28069 is a Tempilstik temperature indicating stick rated to 1650 degrees F (899 degrees C). It is a calibration-free, single-use thermal marker designed for visual temperature verification on metal, ceramic, glass, and plastic surfaces. The bullet-tip stick melts instantly at its designated temperature, giving technicians, welders, and fabricators an immediate visual indication that the target surface temperature has been reached. Accurate to within plus or minus 1 percent of the Fahrenheit rating, it requires no instruments or power source and delivers reliable results in field and shop environments.
This temperature indicating stick is used in welding preheat and interpass temperature verification, heat treating, brazing, and industrial fabrication processes. It is appropriate for use on aluminum, ceramic, glass, iron, plastic, stainless steel, and carbon steel. Typical users include welders, pipefitters, boilermakers, maintenance technicians, and quality control inspectors working in manufacturing, shipbuilding, structural fabrication, and process piping. The stick can be applied directly to the workpiece surface prior to or during heating operations.
Designed for use on aluminum, ceramic, glass, iron, plastic, stainless steel, and steel surfaces where surface temperature verification is required during heating, welding, or heat treating operations.
Apply the stick directly to the workpiece surface in the area to be monitored before or during the heating process. No tools or power source are required. Follow applicable welding procedure specifications (WPS) or heat treating procedures for preheat and interpass temperature requirements. Keep the stick away from open flame contact, as direct flame application will produce an inaccurate reading.
