The TEMPIL 24438 is a temperature-indicating liquid designed to give tradespeople a fast, reliable visual confirmation that a surface has reached a target temperature of 1500 degrees F (816 degrees C). Applied directly to metal or glass surfaces before or during heat application, the liquid melts at its designated temperature and leaves a clearly visible mark. It dries quickly on both horizontal and vertical surfaces, which reduces drips and repositioning time on the job. Accuracy is rated within plus or minus 1 percent of the Fahrenheit value and plus or minus 3 percent of the Celsius value, making it suitable for precision heat-sensitive work in fabrication, welding, and HVAC service.
This product is used wherever controlled heat application must be verified without electronic instrumentation. Common applications include brazing and soldering on copper and steel pipe, heat treatment of metal components, and glass work requiring specific temperature thresholds. The 2 oz container is sized for field and shop use. It is typically used by HVAC technicians, pipefitters, welders, and metal fabricators who need a low-cost, no-power method to confirm surface temperature before proceeding with a process step.
Designed for use on glass and metal surfaces where temperature verification at 1500 degrees F is required during heating, brazing, welding, or heat treatment processes.
Apply a small amount of the liquid to the workpiece surface before or during the heating process. Allow the coating to dry fully before applying heat so the melt point can be observed accurately. Use in a well-ventilated area, as fumes may be produced at elevated temperatures. No electrical power or calibration tools are required, but appropriate personal protective equipment for high-heat work should be worn at all times.
