The TELEMECANIQUE SENSORS XS618B1MBL2 is an inductive proximity sensor in a shielded cylindrical housing designed for non-contact detection of metallic targets. It operates on 24 to 240 volts AC/DC, making it suitable for a wide range of control circuits without the need for separate power supplies. The sensor features an 8 mm detection distance, a normally closed (NC) output mode, and a 2-wire cable connection. With a response frequency of 1,000 Hz and a maximum load capacity of 300 milliamps, it handles high-speed switching applications in industrial automation and machinery control. Licensed electricians and industrial technicians are the typical installers.
This sensor is suited for use in industrial automation, conveyor systems, machine tool positioning, and process control equipment where reliable metallic target detection is required. The M18 threaded brass housing allows direct mounting into standard M18 tapped bores or with standard hex locknuts. Its IP68 and IP69K ingress protection ratings make it appropriate for wash-down environments, wet processing lines, and applications involving high-pressure cleaning. The 2-wire NC configuration simplifies wiring in both new installations and retrofit applications on existing control panels.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-install inductive proximity sensor for industrial control systems requiring an M18 shielded cylindrical sensor with NC output and 2-wire cable connection.
Installation should be performed by a qualified electrician or industrial controls technician in accordance with NEC guidelines and applicable local codes. Disconnect and lock out all power to the control circuit before wiring or replacing the sensor. The 2-wire NC configuration connects in series with the load; verify load current does not exceed the 300 mA maximum rating. Avoid mounting the sensor adjacent to other inductive sensors without maintaining recommended face-to-face and side-by-side spacing to prevent mutual interference.
