The TELEMECANIQUE SENSORS XS612B1MBL2 is a shielded cylindrical inductive proximity sensor designed for reliable non-contact detection of metallic targets in industrial and commercial control applications. Built on an M12 threaded brass housing, it delivers a detection distance of 0.16 inches (4 mm) and operates across a wide voltage range of 24 to 240 volts AC/DC. The sensor outputs a normally closed (NC) signal over a 2-wire cable connection and supports response frequencies up to 1,000 Hz, making it suitable for fast-cycling detection tasks. Licensed electricians and automation technicians are the primary installers of this device.
This sensor is well-suited for machine automation, conveyor systems, and industrial control panels where a compact M12-threaded cylinder form factor is required. Its IP68 and IP69K ingress protection ratings make it appropriate for washdown environments and applications exposed to dust, coolant, or high-pressure cleaning. The wide AC/DC voltage range allows integration into a broad range of PLC-driven and relay-based control circuits without requiring a dedicated power supply.
Designed as an OEM-style inductive proximity sensor for industrial automation and control applications requiring an M12 shielded cylindrical sensor with 2-wire NC output and cable connection.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician or qualified automation technician in accordance with applicable NEC requirements and the equipment manufacturer's wiring diagrams. Disconnect and lock out all power to the control circuit before wiring or replacing the sensor. Verify that the supply voltage falls within the 24 to 240 volt AC/DC operating range before energizing. Do not exceed the 300 mA maximum load rating of the output circuit.
