The TELEMECANIQUE SENSORS XS1M12KP340D is a cylindrical inductive proximity sensor designed for non-contact detection of metallic targets in industrial control and automation applications. It operates on 12 to 24 volts DC and provides a sensing distance of 2 mm with a response frequency of 5,000 Hz, making it suitable for high-speed detection tasks. The sensor outputs both NPN and PNP signals through a four-wire, M12 male connector, giving installers flexibility when wiring to different PLC input card types. The brass housing carries an IP67 ingress protection rating, providing resistance to dust ingress and temporary water immersion. Licensed electricians and industrial control technicians are the primary installers for this sensor.
This sensor is suited for use in residential and light commercial automation panels, conveyor systems, machine tool controls, and process equipment where reliable metal-target detection is required. Its M12x1 threaded cylindrical body allows direct mounting into standard sensor brackets or drilled and tapped fixtures. The four-wire output configuration supports both sourcing and sinking input modules, making it adaptable across a range of control architectures. Its shock-resistant and vibration-resistant construction supports continuous operation in environments with mechanical stress.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct installation sensor for industrial control systems requiring an M12-threaded cylindrical inductive proximity sensor with NPN and PNP dual output on a four-wire M12 connector interface.
Installation should be performed by a qualified electrician or industrial controls technician in accordance with NEC requirements and the equipment manufacturer guidelines. De-energize the control panel and lock out the power source before wiring or replacing the sensor. The M12 connector should be fully seated and secured before restoring power. Do not exceed the 200 mA maximum load current on the output circuit.
