The TECHNIKS 04546-27/64 is an ER32 series collet designed for precision tool holding in CNC machining and manual milling applications. Sized at 27/64 inch, this collet delivers a TIR of 0.0002 inch, making it suitable for close-tolerance work where runout directly affects surface finish and tool life. It features through-coolant capability, allowing coolant to flow directly to the cutting zone for improved chip evacuation and thermal management. Machinists and toolroom technicians install this collet into compatible ER32 collet chucks as part of standard tool holding setups on machining centers and lathes.
This collet is used in production and job-shop environments where ER32 tooling is the standard. It fits residential shop, commercial, and industrial machining operations alike. The 27/64 inch bore size accommodates tooling such as drills, end mills, and reamers at that shank diameter. Through-coolant routing makes it well-suited for deep-hole drilling and high-speed cutting operations where flood coolant at the spindle nose is insufficient.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard fit for ER32 collet chucks used in CNC machining centers, milling machines, and lathes that accept the ER32 collet standard.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or toolroom technicians. The spindle must be fully stopped and the machine placed in an e-stop or powered-down state before changing collets. Clean the collet seat and chuck body before seating the collet to ensure proper TIR. Torque the collet nut using an appropriate ER32 collet nut spanner to seat the collet evenly - do not use improvised tools that may damage the nut or collet taper.
