The TECHNIKS 04544-14.0 is an ER20 series collet designed for use in CNC machining centers, milling machines, and other rotating spindle equipment that accept ER20 toolholding systems. This collet clamps at a 14.00mm nominal size and features through-coolant capability, allowing cutting fluid to pass directly through the collet body to the tool tip for improved chip evacuation and tool life. The 04544-14.0 carries a total indicator runout (TIR) rating of 0.0050mm, making it suitable for precision work where concentricity is critical. Overall length is 1.24 inches and overall diameter is 0.83 inches. Machinists and CNC setup technicians are the primary installers.
This ER20 collet is used in production and job-shop environments wherever an ER20-compatible toolholder or chuck is present. Typical applications include end milling, drilling, reaming, and tapping operations on vertical and horizontal machining centers. The through-coolant design makes it well suited for deep-hole drilling and high-speed cutting operations where flood coolant at the tool tip reduces heat and extends tool life. It is sold individually with a minimum order quantity of one.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement or additional collet for any ER20-compatible toolholder, collet chuck, or spindle nut that accepts the ER20 collet standard.
ER20 collets are installed by machinists and CNC tooling technicians. Before changing collets, ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe, locked-out state per your facility lockout/tagout procedures. Insert the collet into the ER20 nut before threading onto the toolholder, and use a calibrated torque wrench with the appropriate ER spanner to achieve proper clamping force - consult the toolholder manufacturer torque specification, as no torque value is published in the product data. Avoid exceeding the collet's clamping range, as under- or over-sized tooling can damage the collet bore and degrade TIR performance.
