The TE-CO 52811 is a threaded ball plunger designed for use in fixturing, jigs, and positioning applications where controlled detent or locking action is required. It features a 3/8-16 thread, a 0.187-inch stainless steel ball, and a steel body measuring 5/8 inch in length. The built-in locking element secures the plunger in position after installation, preventing backout under vibration or repeated cycling. With a 5-pound initial end force and a 10-pound final end force, this plunger delivers consistent, repeatable engagement suited to precision assembly and tooling work. Machinists, tool and die makers, and maintenance technicians are the typical installers.
The 52811 is used in manual and automated tooling fixtures, workholding devices, index plates, and precision jigs where a spring-loaded ball detent is needed to locate or retain a component. The 3/8-16 thread allows installation into standard tapped holes in steel, aluminum, or cast iron assemblies. The stainless steel ball resists wear and corrosion in light-fluid or high-cycle environments. This plunger is sold individually with a minimum order quantity of 10 units.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-install threaded ball plunger for fixturing and tooling assemblies using a standard 3/8-16 tapped hole.
Install using a hex wrench or spanner into a clean, properly tapped 3/8-16 hole. Disengage and de-energize any associated machinery before servicing or replacing plungers in active tooling fixtures. The locking element should be fully seated against the mating surface to prevent rotation during operation. Follow applicable shop safety and machine guarding standards when servicing workholding equipment.
