The TE-CO 41805 is a spherical flange nut designed for fastening applications that require a self-aligning bearing surface. The spherical underside of the flange distributes clamping load across angled or misaligned mating surfaces, reducing stress concentration and improving joint integrity. Machined from 12L14 free-machining steel, the 41805 offers consistent thread quality and dimensional accuracy. It accepts a 1/2-13 UNC thread, measures 11/16 inches in overall height, and features a 1-1/8 inch flange diameter with a 3/16 inch flange height. A 7/8 inch hex allows standard wrench installation. This hardware is commonly installed by millwrights, maintenance technicians, and machine builders working on mechanical assemblies, fixtures, and structural connections.
The TE-CO 41805 spherical flange nut suits industrial and commercial applications where bolt holes or mating surfaces are not perfectly perpendicular to the fastener axis. Typical use cases include machine frames, jigs and fixtures, conveyor structures, and equipment mounting brackets. The self-aligning spherical flange compensates for minor angular misalignment without requiring additional washers or alignment hardware, simplifying assembly and reducing component count in the joint stack.
Designed as a standard inch-series spherical flange nut for use with 1/2-13 UNC threaded fasteners in industrial machinery, fixtures, and structural assemblies.
Installation is performed by qualified millwrights or maintenance technicians using hand or power tools with a 7/8 inch wrench or socket. Ensure the mating surface is clean and free of debris before seating the spherical flange to allow proper self-alignment. Torque to the value specified by the equipment manufacturer or applicable design standard for the joint. Do not weld or heat-treat 12L14 components without engineering review, as the lead content in this alloy affects weldability.
