The TE-CO 20403 is a 52-piece fixturing step block and clamp set designed for workholding applications on milling machines, drill presses, and other machine tool setups. The set includes step blocks with a 1 inch step block width sized for 11/16 inch T-slots and uses a 1/2-13 stud thread throughout. Stud lengths of 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8 inches are included to accommodate a wide range of workpiece heights and fixture configurations. The nut width is 1-1/8 inches. Total set weight is 27 pounds.
This set suits machine shop environments where repetitive or varied workholding setups are required. It is commonly used in production machining, toolroom work, and job shop applications where workpieces of different heights need to be clamped securely to a T-slot table. Having multiple stud lengths and step block combinations in a single kit reduces setup time when transitioning between different part geometries.
Designed for use with machine tool tables equipped with 11/16 inch T-slots accepting 1/2-13 threaded studs, including standard milling machine and drill press tables commonly found in production and toolroom environments.
Step block and clamp sets are typically installed by machinists and tool and die technicians as part of workholding setup. Before installing or adjusting clamps, ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the power is locked out. Arrange step blocks so the clamp bears down at an angle toward the workpiece rather than toward the open T-slot to maximize holding force. Stud thread engagement should be sufficient to prevent pull-out under cutting loads without bottoming out against the table.
