The TB WOODS TB-7S118* is a Type-S flange hub sleeve coupling flange designed for power transmission applications in motors, pumps, compressors, blowers, mixers, and conveyors. This coupling size 7 flange is machined from cast iron with a fixed round keyed bore of 1.125 inches and a hub diameter of 2.8125 inches. It handles a maximum torque of 940 inch-pounds and a maximum speed of 5,250 RPM. The 4-way flexing action of the Sure-Flex sleeve system absorbs shock, angular and parallel misalignment, end float, and vibration. Licensed HVAC and mechanical contractors, millwrights, and industrial technicians install this flange as part of a complete Sure-Flex coupling assembly.

This sleeve coupling flange is suited for close-coupled drive arrangements in both light commercial and industrial settings. Typical applications include motor-to-pump drives, compressor drives, conveyor head shafts, and blower or mixer shafts. The Type-S close-coupled body style keeps shaft-to-shaft spacing tight. The flange accommodates angular misalignment up to 0.25 degrees with Hytrel sleeves and up to 1 degree with EPDM or Neoprene sleeves. No bushing is required for installation on a 1.125-inch shaft. Two set screws are included, positioned one over the keyseat and one at 90 degrees.

Installation Notes

Installation is performed by qualified mechanical technicians or millwrights. De-energize and lock out all power to the drive system before mounting or removing coupling components per OSHA lockout/tagout procedures. Verify shaft diameter and keyway dimensions match the bore and keyseat size before installation. Do not operate the coupling without the appropriate Sure-Flex sleeve seated between the two flanges.
