The TB WOODS TB-6H is a size 6 H-series one-piece solid sleeve coupling insert designed for the Sure-Flex Plus flexible coupling system. Manufactured from Hytrel, a tough thermoplastic elastomer, this insert delivers four-way flexing action to absorb shock loads, vibration, and end float while accommodating angular, axial, and parallel misalignment simultaneously. Rated at 1,800 in-lb of torque and a maximum speed of 6,000 RPM, it is suited for demanding power transmission applications across industrial and commercial settings. Mechanical and millwright trades install this component as part of a complete sleeve coupling assembly pairing two compatible flanges.
The TB-6H insert is used in a wide range of rotating equipment applications including compressors, conveyors, electric motors, fans, blowers, mixers, and pumps. Its Hytrel construction tolerates operating temperatures from -65 degrees F to 250 degrees F, making it viable in both cold-storage and high-heat industrial environments. The one-piece solid construction distinguishes the H-series from split-style inserts, and it is intended for installations where shaft access allows the insert to be slid into position without disassembling adjacent equipment. Rated horsepower performance is 100 hp at 3,500 RPM, 50 hp at 1,750 RPM, and 33 hp at 1,160 RPM.
Designed for use with TB WOODS Sure-Flex Plus coupling flanges in size 6 configurations. Compatible applications include compressors, conveyors, electric motors, fans, blowers, mixers, and pumps requiring flexible sleeve coupling connections.
Installation is performed by qualified millwrights or mechanical technicians. De-energize and lock out all connected equipment before servicing any coupling components per OSHA lockout/tagout procedures. The one-piece H-series insert requires sufficient shaft clearance to slide the insert into position; where shaft access is restricted, a split-style insert may be more appropriate. Inspect coupling flanges for wear or damage before installing a new insert.
