The TB WOOD'S 8 is an EPDM flexible two-piece sleeve designed for use with Sure-Flex flexible shaft couplings in industrial power transmission applications. Manufactured from Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer (EPDM), this sleeve element absorbs shock, dampens vibration, and accommodates minor shaft misalignment between connected equipment. It measures 2.5 inches in overall length with a 5.0625-inch outside diameter and is rated to handle up to 1,135 inch-pounds of torque. Licensed mechanics and millwrights working on pump, compressor, conveyor, and HVAC drive systems rely on this sleeve to maintain flexible coupling performance over extended service intervals.

This sleeve is intended for use in the Sure-Flex coupling system in both light commercial and industrial settings. It fits drive applications where flexibility and resistance to ozone, weathering, and moderate chemical exposure are required. To complete one functional coupling assembly, two Sure-Flex coupling hubs of the same outside diameter must be ordered alongside one sleeve insert. Hub bores may differ to accommodate shafts of varying diameters on each side of the drive.

Installation Notes

Installation is performed by qualified mechanics or millwrights following applicable machinery safety lockout/tagout procedures. De-energize and lock out all connected drive equipment before removing or installing coupling components. The two-piece sleeve design allows removal without axially separating the connected shafts, but verify hub alignment and gap spacing per the coupling manufacturer guidelines before returning the drive to service.
