The TANE ALARM sm-35br is a surface-mount magnetic contact designed for use in closed-loop security and alarm circuits. The sm-35br consists of a magnet and a reed switch housing that work together to detect door or window movement — the circuit breaks when the two halves separate beyond the rated gap distance. The unit is finished in brown to blend with common wood-tone door and window frames. Installation does not require routing wires through a door jamb, making it a straightforward surface-mount application for alarm technicians and low-voltage security installers.
The sm-35br is suited for residential and light commercial security installations where a concealed or recessed contact is impractical. It is commonly applied to hinged doors, sliding doors, and windows. The brown finish makes it a natural fit for wood-frame construction and stained or painted trim. Alarm technicians typically install this contact as part of a hardwired perimeter detection zone tied to a central alarm panel.
Designed as an OEM-style surface-mount magnetic contact for use in hardwired closed-loop perimeter alarm circuits typical of residential and light commercial security systems.
Installation is performed by licensed low-voltage or alarm technicians in accordance with local codes and NFPA 731 guidelines. Power down or disarm the alarm panel zone before wiring the contact. Mount both the magnet and the reed switch housing so the two pieces align within the manufacturer-specified gap distance. Secure wiring to avoid pinching at door or window hardware.
