The SYSTEM SENSOR PC2WLED-LF is a ceiling-mount low frequency sounder strobe designed for fire alarm and life safety notification systems. It combines an audible sounder with a visible LED strobe in a single white ceiling unit, reducing installation time and hardware count compared to separate devices. Low frequency sounders are increasingly required by code for sleeping areas, where research shows the lower tone is more effective at waking occupants, particularly the elderly and those with hearing loss. This unit is sold individually and is installed by licensed fire alarm technicians or electricians working on life safety systems.
The PC2WLED-LF is intended for ceiling-mount installation in residential and light commercial applications where notification appliance codes require both audible and visible alert output. Typical deployment locations include hotel guest rooms, dormitory sleeping areas, assisted living facilities, and residential occupancies subject to NFPA 72 low frequency requirements. The white housing is suited for standard drop-ceiling or drywall ceiling surfaces where a low-profile, unobtrusive device is preferred.
Designed as an OEM-style notification appliance for use on compatible fire alarm notification appliance circuits (NAC) in life safety systems. Consult system documentation for voltage range and current draw compatibility before installation.
Installation must be performed by a licensed fire alarm technician or electrician in accordance with NFPA 72 and applicable local codes. De-energize the notification appliance circuit at the fire alarm control panel before wiring or removing any device. Polarity must be observed on supervised NAC circuits. Verify end-of-line resistor placement and circuit supervision after installation per the control panel manufacturer requirements.
