The SUPERIOR ESSEX 130243D01 is a 24-strand, riser-rated, singlemode fiber optic cable designed for indoor vertical runs in commercial and industrial buildings. Built to the Dri-Lite dry-core construction standard, this distribution-format cable eliminates gel filling, making mid-span access and termination cleaner and faster. The riser (OFNR) flame rating qualifies it for installation in building risers and vertical shafts where plenum-rated cable is not required. Licensed low-voltage and datacom contractors rely on this cable for structured cabling backbones, telecommunications rooms, and inter-floor fiber runs.
This cable is suited for indoor backbone installations in multi-story commercial buildings, data centers, campus riser conduits, and telecommunications closet interconnects. Its singlemode fiber construction supports high-bandwidth, long-distance transmission, making it appropriate for backbone segments where multimode distance limitations are a constraint. The dry-core design also speeds up installation in congested conduit runs where gel cleanup would slow the job.
Designed as an OEM-style riser fiber optic cable for use in singlemode indoor backbone and vertical riser cabling systems where OFNR-rated, dry-core construction is specified.
Installation should be performed by a licensed low-voltage or datacom contractor familiar with TIA-568 structured cabling standards and NEC Article 770 fiber optic cabling requirements. De-energize and lock out all adjacent electrical equipment before pulling cable through shared conduits or pathway systems. Observe the manufacturer minimum bend radius during pulling to avoid microbend attenuation in singlemode fiber. Terminate using fusion splicing or factory-polished connectors appropriate for singlemode glass.
